During  2017....

Dooms day predictions are given by the scientific community based on the birth and mortality rates, resources existing, raptures in ozone layer, shifting of magnetic poles, decaying of solar matter, collusion of a cosmic body with earth, fault plates on the surface of earth, volcanic explosion etc., Aliens waging a war on our beloved globe is a remote possibility, as far as we know today. There is a serious danger of nuclear holocaust and in this case, ever-changing political equations are studied to gauge the time of possible disaster. But all these things are individually considered not put together. Further, more than the mathematical credence, it takes into account the opinion of so-called experts. Such a study lacks reliability and does not call for any anxiety. The other group of experts proclaim Doomsday on religious grounds. No such period is specified but the end of the world is seen as 'near'. As long as turning man towards God, such predictions do serve a purpose, though neither Lord Krishna, Jesus nor Parmeshwar (a modern cult proclaims He is coming very soon) have specified any dates for their reincarnation. Western astrologers consider the closeness of the planets and fix a date for the end of the world. In Hindu astrology combination of planets (called yoga) are considered. Astagraha koota (combination of 8 planets: sun to Saturn plus rahu or ketu) is feared most. We know that study of 1000 or so horoscopes will lead us to define specific combinations of a particular feature like tuberculosis. To decide the Dooms day, how many such charts are available? So, it clearly indicates Dooms day predictions by the astrologers whether (Hindu or Western) are but fanciful ideas and are in no way better than the ones done by scientific experts. Cluster of planets (like astagraha koota) cause intense activity in a particular area of life. For instance, Maharshi Jaimini says that the number of planets in a particular sign, the rasi gets strength. I had opportunity to study some charts of people born with astagraha koota. They had untold sufferings in early childhood, persistent health problems throughout life, a bad wife, poverty, uncertain professional front etc., but the complete life as a whole was not bad at all - on the contrary it was well above average!

श्लोक ७, ८ ज्ञानयोग, श्रीमद्भगवद्गीत "When there is decline in dharma and increase in adharma, I take birth to protect good and punish evil, time and again." --7,8 Gnana Yoga. Like in the Revelations, the last incarnation of God in the form of Kalki will impose great punishment and liquidate the creation. There is a common guilt in the the cultures and also a common fear.  The end of the creation may happen on any day, perhaps tomorrow if the magnetosphere shifts, if the big volcanoes in Philippines open their lids.  The world may end on any moment if a big foreign body hits the earth.  Invasion by aliens is very remote possibility; the creation may continue for another 10 million years, till the sun looses his fuel or till a trigger happy Hitler pulls of a the neutron bomb. This is as far as the world, in other words a tiny tiny dot called earth is concerned.

The visible and also invisible universe (we should say multiverse, there are several!) was believed to have been created at a big bang.  This word was coined by an opponent to this theory in a live BBC interview and the name struck. Bigbang is simply coming together of sub atomic particles to make an organized set of atoms and molecules. The creation started big bang, on the time scale it is 10-23 seconds before Big Bang. The sub atomic particles have spin, the twins spin opposite to each other.  If the spin of one such quark is reversed the other will 'know' this and change its spin also immediately, even if they are separated by many light years. The information is retained and passed on instantly, it does not take 240 light years. Did Albert Einstein say the speed of light is the maximum speed information or particles can travel? He should come back and learn quantum mechanics again! The information retained (we can say software copy) gives rise to another creation, like reincarnation. For nearly thirty years, the greatest physicist Stephen Hacking maintained that the information is lost when the objects fall into the black hole.  That means there is no more creation, when black holes take over. But of late, he has admitted that the information is retained at the rim of the black hole.  So, there will be Big Bang again after many million or trillion years. The creation continues like any soap on the TV!

The rationalists are convinced that with the cremation of the mortal remains, the story ends, there is no reincarnation at all. When a quark can retain / remember the information, can not a cluster of many molecules in my body remember and pass on to next janma?  When the unimaginably high temperature at the rim of black hole (called event horizon) can not destroy the information in quarks, can a cool earthy fire destroy the memory of previous janma? Hawkings agreed to this with Leonard in 2009! Do they know about reincarnation of Shanta devi, a reincarnation case for which Mahatma Gandhi (when he was the running the newspaper, Harijan) sent a qualified team to verify the credence and he was totally convinced?
