Transit across rasi & Vedha
By rasi, I am not referring to your sun sign, i.e. sun's position in the zodiac. Sun remains in the same sign for nearly 30 days. For example people born between 15.01.2014 to 12.02.2014 belong to makara rasi. This method is followed in Kerala, some parts of Tamil Nadu and Malabar as well as in portions of North East India. According to Western astrology, people born between 22.12.2013 to 20.01.2014 belong to makara rasi (Capricorn). The difference is due to deduction of certain element called ayanamsha (precision value).
Whereas moon takes two and half days appx. to cross a zodiac sign. Every rasi contains a set of three stars (nakshatras) and some nakshatras spread in two signs. Each rasi has such nine padas. That is to say Uttarashada 2,3,4 padas, Sravana all padas and Dhanista 1st and 2nd padas belong to makara rasi, you might have been born in any of the Gregorian months. In Hindu astrology the transit effects are considered from the sign occupied by moon (nirayana position) at the time of birth, called rasi. After several intensive experiments in Kerala system of nirayana surya stita rasi, I settled down for chandramana rasi system.
Transit in certain houses are beneficial and in others are bad. The transit of shani in 4th (ardastama shani), 7th (saptama shani), 8th (astama shani) 10th (dashama shani) and across the rasi for seven and half years is well known. It should be noted that there are no vedha for 4th, 7th and 8th, 2nd, 1st transit of shani. Suppose shani is transiting in 11th, a planet (other than ravi) is placed in 5th, the effects of such benefic transit is not experienced. Suppose shani is in 12th, a planet (other than ravi) in 3rd will subdue shani causing vedha. However, there is no such checkmate between shani and ravi as well as between budha and chandra.
I do not want to disappoint such readers. I humbly accept the appreciations, though I do not deserve such high laurels. It is simple - just put the rules faithfully, you will be accurate by 60%, to get additional 30%, you have to think hard and study many horoscopes for 30 years. You have to doubt your own arguments and logic - leave alone whatever your have studied in great books. When the milk is boiled all the water will evaporate to give you the cream. When I - a man of very ordinary intelligence, background and education - can do this, anybody in the world can do it better than me!
Ready made Lees, Levis, Flying Machines or Sinking Ships will not fit as good as tailor made trousers. These general predictions are not substitute for individual analysis of the chart based on dasha / bhuktis, position and influence of all the planets. However, compared to western system of sun sign (sayana ravi) or of west coast system of sun sign (nirayana ravi), I find more accuracy in rasi (moon sign) method. If your chandra is in the center of a sign or with benefic planets, these results are manifested in full and if your moon is weak (at the end of the sign or afflicted by malefics), you may find less intensity in the predictions.
